St. Maarten (St. Martin) is a marvellous location to start your Caribbean Leeward Island yacht charter experience. The duality of it's cultures never fails to delight Caribbean visitors. Home to many of the large Mediterranean based mega-yachts that charter to Caribbean visitors in the Winter, and an excellent starting point for cruises to st. Barth and Anguilla.

St. Maarten is a truly international experience. The island is split into two countries, one side is French the other is Dutch. However you can pass seamlessly between each part of St Maarten to sample the best that each to offer.

Does your idea of the perfect vacation include delicious food (the French side of course..!!), exceptional duty-free shopping and gorgeous beaches? If so, traveling to St. Martin/St. Maarten is the way to go. Keep in mind, however, that the island is a popular tourist destination and cruise ships make regular stops here. If you're in search of solitude, head elsewhere ... or at least to the French side of the island, which is more laid-back than the Dutch half.

There are some great Marinas here which makes St. Martin a favorite yachting pick-up point for yachts-persons headed to St. Barts or Anguilla. You can also catch the Winair shuttle to St. Barth with several flights daily.
