Many of our clients cruise the Leeward islands using St. Maarten
(or St Martin) as a starting point for their Caribbean luxury charter. Many of our large and medium sized
motor yachts and sailing charter yachts and catamarans use the excellent marinas and the beautiful and protected harbours
in St. Maarten as their winter base and many of the Mediterranean based large super-luxury megayachts "hang-out" in St Maarten from December to April each year to pick up their Caribbean clientele.
Typically, Leeward island charter itineraries will include the "triangle" islands of St. Maarten, St. Bart and Anguilla. St. Bart (real name: st. Bathelemy) is one of the more fashionable getaway locations and watering holes for both European and American celebrities, so keep your eyes open..!! Due to the French influence these islands are true gastronomic experiences. A little pricey but well worth it, the wide assortment of restaurants, nightclubs and cute little boutique hotels are unique in the islands.
St. Kitts, Nevis, Guadeloupe and Monserrat are the exact opposite, volcanic and pretty un-developed certainly not on the A-list as far as the maga-yacht crowd is concerned. These islands do have heir charm however and are popular among the "get-away-from-it-all" school of thought.
Access to the Leewards is through St. Maarten which can be reached by
direct flights from Europe and the US. Alternatively, the inter-island
carriers such as LIAT can take you from San Juan, or St. Thomas.
